by on February 28th, 2012

Tobias Mink is an outfit based in Ayr on the west coast of Scotland consisting of songwriter and musician Andy Walker. Andy has played in several bands over the years including Edinburgh based New Leaf who were signed to Sony and released three albums in Japan. After the demise of ‘The Leaf’ Andy teamed up with New Leaf founder Jeremy Thoms and together they penned the first Skyline album ‘Affairs of the heart’ and quickly followed it up with the second album ‘Higher Reaches’.

Andy has been working on The Dream for a few years now but it is finally finished and about to be released on Bendi Records. The second Tobias Mink album will be due for release sometime in the new year and will feature guest vocalists Neil (Beast) Crossan and S.U.Z.Y.

“Be a pop music snob!”

by on September 5th, 2011

…says award winning writer, author, musician and rock and roll sneerster Serene Dominic.

How many times has this happened to you—you’re at a party, the subject turns to music and you blurt out bland opinions like “There’ll never be another band like the Beatles” or “Thank goodness the Eagles patched up their differences so they’re back to doing what they do best.” Chances are people stopped listening to your opinion right after you said “Well, if you ask me…” But that’s another story.

It’s for people like you who aspire to beige that we, in conjunction with Bendi Records, have created The Serene Dominic 24/7 Club. As a public service to tastemakers everywhere, Mr. Dominic, noted rock historian and musician in his own right, is eager to share his encyclopedic pop knowledge about obscure musical acts no one has ever heard of so that YOU, cherished subscriber, can better your station in life.

Each week for 24 weeks, The Serene Dominic 24/7 Club will send subscribers free of charge: Read Post »

New album and single from Drew McCulloch

by on August 13th, 2011

His first solo album, A Salty Tale, was released on Bendi Records a couple of years ago. But it was recorded in 1977, with lots of great musicians like Laurence Juber, Dave Mattacks, B.J.Cole, Chris Thompson a.o. It didn’t take quite that long for the follow up. The line up on Further On Down The Line may not match the previous one, but the songs are just as good in the same classic style.

We also release a single with an alternate version of Rue De Beaujolais plus an outtake.

Stefan Wesley (Spencer Hill) and Tomas Bergström (Bud Terence) were both 17 at the time, when they made these peculiar songs on Stefan’s fathers home organ. When his father sold the organ a year later, it was the end of M.O.M.S.
