Swedish experimental music coming up

You’ve already seen the sleeve to Green’s Restaurant “Ekofiskfält” on the website for a while. This wonderful nugget was originally released 20 years ago as a tape, and for each year we celebrate with an extra bonus track. The CD comes with liner notes by Testbild!’s Petter Herbertsson (a.k.a Sjtjekn). Scheduled for release in october or november, but you don’t need to wait that long to hear a first sample: just tune in our next podcast.

Later this winter it’s time for another Swedish experimental classic; Datahysteri’s “27 Visions Of The Door”. This duo from Sigtuna made several great tapes in the late 80’s and “27 Doors” was one of the best. Of course with several bonus tracks.

Two new releases

The CD with Serene Dominic and The Semi Detached was supposed to be released on monday March 27, but because of various circumstances we have to postpone the release a couple of weeks. New release date is April 10.

Serene Dominci from Phoenix, Arizona, whos debut CD was released on indie label Worrybird a few years ago. This second CD, “Adult Contemptuous”, is full of new wave pop like Elvis Costello, Squeeze and XTC, and is now available from Bendi Records. »

Sjtjekn, with at least one member from Testbild!, have a first CD out called “Noon Universe”, which is described here… »

Bendi releases russian ambient from southern Sweden

At least one member from TESTBILD is said to be involved in Bendis latest infusion SJTJEKN, playing russian ambient with side effects. Sjtjekn is the sound of dripping rust coloured rain in a tin bucket, the buzzing radio waves under the blanket of ice, the squeaking of a forgotten machinery in the night. A contemplative and quiet threatening balloon ride over a future Russia, or the soundtrack to an imaginary Tarkovskij movie. “Noon Universe” is the album title, and it is scheduled to the end of march.
