Long time ago in my cassette label days I released two tapes with the great british band The Cleaners From Venus. Since then, frontman Martin Newell have made several wonderful records, sometimes with help from people like Louis Philippe, Andy Partridge and Captain Sensible.

Martin have just released his sixth (I think) solo album, “A Summer Tamarind” and it’s his best so far.
Martin turned 50 the other year, so he’s not THAT old, but with a song title like that… well, he asked for it. But age doesn’t matter when it comes to really good music. Just look at Burt Bacharach and Paul McCartney.
